Linda Veldhuizen is a Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) missionary and the director of Noah's Ark Children's Home in the Philippines. Many abandoned, vulnerable and abused children have found a loving home and a golden opportunity for a brighter future there.  March to June is usually when some children are released from the Home as this is our summer break and a good time to make the transition.  Although it is so difficult to see the children leave we are always so delighted that their families are able get them back.   In 2009, 8 children went back to their families and 6 new children arrived.

BIBLE CLUB

In June 2009, we started a “Noah’s Ark Bible Club”.  This is held every other Saturday for the neighborhood children.  We play games, sing, tell Bible stories and of course have a snack!  There is an average of about 50 children who attend.  My high school students take an active role in the leadership of this and they are learning a lot. Nothing can be accomplished without your prayerful and financial support.  Thanks so much for partnering with us.

Missionaries in Honduras

Latin America and Caribbean Region

 Assisting Manos Extendidas (ME)

(Project) School of Hope. In Spanish it has a sweet ring to it “Escuela de Esperanza

We continue to assist Manos Extendidas (ME), the Ministry we have worked alongside of for the past four years that we have known and love. We will always be connected at the hip. These are the children that we have the vision to develop a school for.

We appreciate those of you who are believing with us. God can work miracles so that the dreams of these little children for a hope and future can become a reality. Jeremiah 29: 11 is what we are hanging on to. “For I know the plans I have for you`` declares the Lord, ``plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future”.  God is on the move in Honduras and we are in for CHANGE!!!

Lillian Tarvudd

Lillian Tarvud

My name is Lillian Tarvudd and I have been part of the Glad Tidings
family for 27 years now.  I have grown up attending this church and can
attribute much of my spiritual growth to those who have taught and
influenced me here through the years.

For the last 9 years I have been involved with a ministry called DRIME
(a ministry of Power to Change, formerly known as Campus Crusade for
Christ).  DRIME is a street drama evangelism ministry that uses drama as
a tool to get into spiritual dialogue with people that stop to watch.
The heart of the ministry is the streets, using the dramas to engage
people in spiritual things outside of the church building. We use drama,
a creative, non-threatening way to engage people. After many years of
volunteering with the ministry, I have now accepted a position working
for DRIME.  Now I am not only ministering on the streets but I am
involved in empowering and training others in how to share their faith
in Christ.  DRIME is not simply a drama group with a Christian message
but it is an evangelism ministry where people need to be equipped in
both drama and evangelism.  My position is overseeing the leaders of our
various teams here in Canada and to help equip our international teams
in San Diego, Kenya, Brazil, and soon in Paraguay and Benin (both
starting up in the Spring 2010).  It is exciting to be doing Kingdom
work.  I can't think of anything I'd rather do.

The Fortunes

Contact Us:

The Fortunes made the decision earlier this year to leave Baku. Several items factored into that decision including visa issues and schooling issues for the kids. As difficult as life can be in Azerbaijan they are still grateful for their time there.

The Fortunes are happy to announce that in August they will be moving to Europe and pastoring Crossroads International Church of Basel. The name ' Crossroads' is very appropriate for this church as it lies at crossroads of three countries - France, Germany and Switzerland. It is an international congregation and very similar to the church and ministry in Azerbaijan. While there are lots of church buildings in Basel the gospel has disappeared from life in Europe. There is tremendous opportunity for outreach and church planting.
