The Elgin Street Mission
The Elgin Street Mission was birthed at Glad Tidings Tabernacle (now church) and 1989.
A few men of vision, felt a burden from Jesus Christ to help the poor and homeless on Elgin street. They approached the church board for help and funding and with this modest start in 1989 openened a small store front on Elgin Street manned by volunteers. Since that time the Mission has grown to be a mainstay of help and hope in downtown Sudbury and has moved to larger quarters in the Samaritan center. It has now grown and become it's own corporation with the blessing and support of Glad Tidings Church.
